The drilling would probably be easier done as normal on the mill and then mount the workpiece in the mill as lathe to do the turning/boring.

Jul 31 2012 · Gotta agree with RC99 wrong tool for the job at hand. To properly align bore an assembly such as this you need to be using a boring arbor supported on both ends. You can do this with a horizontal boring mill or by mounting the work to the carriage of a lathe and blocking it into alignment then using a boring arbor.
